For the past few decades, De Vlaamse Waterweg has been automating different locks and bridges by/on the Flemish rivers in partnership with Agidens. Many of these installations have been built on different technological foundations. In order to be able to centrally control these installations and to maintain transparency over the technologies in place, De Vlaamse Waterweg had previously assigned Agidens to create a new CCTV concept that will become the single technological automation standard for all past and future infrastructure works. This project includes building a Video Management System for several Remote Control Centres, existing and new ones, and is carried out in collaboration with our partner Tein Technology to record, manage and present the images to the operators.
Agidens has now also secured the next step in this project by winning the Framework Agreement for the Remote Control SCADA, integrating all “wet objects” in Flanders in several remote control centres.
Together with the CCTV project and other service contracts, Agidens Infra has hereby secured its position over all existing wet infrastructure in Flanders.
The first implementation is foreseen by the end of April 2021. De Flemish Waterways aims at converting all control systems to the new standard in the coming 6 years.
