Engineering & design

Are you a technical professional with a passion for utilities and technical installations? Do you always wonder how a heat network or other technical systems work? Are you fascinated by analyzing process parameters and interpreting technical drawings and specifications? If you have the ability to keep an overview, even when there is a lot of data and technical information available, then we are looking for you!

Agidens is a leading provider of engineering, automation and validation services for the life sciences and food industries. With our in-depth knowledge of these sectors and our technical expertise, Agidens offers solutions for every phase of the production cycle, from concept to implementation and validation. Our focus on quality, efficiency and regulatory compliance enables customers to optimize their production processes and strengthen their competitive position.

What will you do?

  • You are part of a team of process engineers on site at a life sciences customer who, based on a long-term vision, sets out the guidelines for expanding and updating technical installations (with a focus on central utilities)
  • You provide professional advice based on technical/scientific expertise in the field of energy systems, water systems and other utilities and in the field of facility systems and buildings.
  • You are responsible for drawing up the first (rough) project scope, converting the customer’s demand into the project scope, drawing up the necessary process requirements and determining the outlines of the conceptual design.
  • You take care of the initial, rough estimate of the necessary budget and calculate the NPV / IRR of a potential project.
  • In this way you draw up the business case and prepare the project approval (both in terms of approach and the elaboration of the required documents).
  • You transfer your concepts in a structured way to the engineering department or an engineering firm. Then you take on the role of process engineer in the project team. This way you continue to monitor the further progress of the detailed engineering & development and monitor the user requirements. Where necessary, you can make adjustments. These installations are ultimately operated by the technical service (Operations) for the benefit of the customer.
  • You will help draw up a Master planning for various utilities, facility systems and buildings. You take into account current user requirements, safety and quality requirements, new regulations, company standards, (technological) obsolescence, etc. Operational reliability and Life Cycle Cost are among the most important decision criteria.
  • You use feedback from the technical service (Operations / Maintenance) or production to detect further (process) optimizations on existing (utility) installations, machines and buildings. You focus on a minimum Life Cycle Cost, taking into account operational reliability, energy efficiency, safety and quality.
  • You actively contribute to energy management and to energy and water saving programs.
  • Working simultaneously on delivering new project descriptions and supporting ongoing projects is a core part of the job.

Who are you?

  • You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience within the field of (industrial) utility facilities within an industrial context.
  • You have a master’s degree in a technical direction, preferably Industrial Sciences Electromechanics / Chemistry or equivalent through experience.
  • You have the knowledge of different types of installations, with a focus on thermodynamics and fluidomechanics, energy systems, HVAC, water and gas related systems.
  • You can form a picture of existing systems in a relatively short time and on the basis of limited (“as-built”) documents and information.
  • You have experience in delivering high-level project descriptions, based on that limited amount of information and against sharp timelines.
  • You understand the principles of IRR/NPV.
  • You have sufficient technical/budgetary insight to know when €10K makes the difference and when €100K.
  • You can deal flexibly with the high expectations of our customers.
  • Knowledge of, or experience with, GMP qualification & validation within the pharmaceutical sector is an additional asset.
  • You have experience with Microsoft Office.
  • You are analytically strong, communicate smoothly and work result-oriented
  • Knowledge of Environment, Health & Safety by Design is an additional advantage
  • You can express yourself fluently in Dutch and English

What do we offer you?

  • A challenging and varied position in a dynamic and growing company
  • A competitive salary with secondary conditions, including a company car, laptop and telephone.
  • The opportunity to further develop yourself through education and training.
  • An informal and open working atmosphere with room for your own initiative and ideas.
